Malle Luik
trainer, psychologist, leader, music therapist
About
I believe that diverse work and different roles help broaden one's horizons and maintain balance. Therefore, over the years I have worked as both a music and psychology teacher, school and clinical psychologist, and music therapist in various institutions; I have enjoyed training students and other learners; published several articles and released a professional music therapy book. My supervision strengths are creating a safe and free atmosphere, musical experiences, and engaging people in the work process. I am a full member of the Estonian Supervision and Coaching Association (ESCÜ) and over the past ten years have gathered a wealth of valuable experience in the field of supervision and coaching. I regularly supervise members of the Estonian Music Therapy Association, music therapy students, social and education sector specialists, Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund and private clients. Recently I led a supervision working group in the European Music Therapy Confederation for three years and international research work in the field of supervision. In individual and group supervision work, my signature approach is a creative approach to the process, using different directions and techniques, including music, art, movement, pictures/cards, paper/pencil, etc. In meetings with clients, I consider it important to create a trusting relationship, an exciting purposeful process for the client, and skillful application of my skills/knowledge. Regardless of position, my mission has been to support people, inspire them, and show life's possibilities and richness. I am curious and inspired by vivid experiences and joy of life - meetings with diverse people, traveling, concert and theater visits, reading. I came to supervision through previous studies in music (EMTA), psychology (University of Tartu), music therapy (Hamburg University of Music and Theatre, PhD) and supervision (Tallinn University). Continuous self-improvement both in Estonia and abroad has been important to me, participation and presentation at international academic conferences and projects. My professional qualifications are: Supervisor-coach training from Tallinn University Creative supervision and coaching training (02.02. 2015-16.12. 2017). certificate issued 16.Dec.2017, reg. no. 2.1-10/3575, curriculum accepted by ESCÜ.
