About

Supervision has always been something more than just professional support for me as a supervisor – it is a way to restore contact with oneself as a professional, with one's values, boundaries and impact. It is also not just a "service" for me but an important cog in the whole system. During my master's studies at the University of Tartu, I delved into the interconnections between social work ethics, policy and practice, and understood how important it is to combine structural knowledge with human-centeredness. This understanding laid the foundation for the desire to support other specialists on their development path – not just at the level of "technical" skills, but at the level of identity, self-care and professional meaning. My superpower is distinguishing the essential from the non-essential My mindset in the supervisor role does not differ much from my mindset in everyday life. I am one whole in everyday life, just in different roles. My main value is human relationships. For me, it is important to understand how other people see the world around them and truly respect different opinions, because this enriches the world. I want to understand what is at the core of words, behavior and human essence. However, one should not go to extremes with this either. Excessive analysis of every word, behavior and perception can do a disservice or lead to assumptions that do not actually exist, because in our heads we inevitably make judgments as humans. Making judgments is, on one hand, one way of creating security (if I can give it a word or category, then I know what it is, and uncertainty is the greatest psychological weapon). At the same time, non-judgmentalness is something that can be trained through awareness of how it affects and influences our understanding. I believe that the key to effective assistance and supporting other people's development is an employee who is satisfied with themselves and their work, who can primarily manage and analyze themselves and is aware of their shadow sides and their effects. My approach is structured and systematic. Language and its meaning are important to me, as well as creating different connections and clarity to see the bigger picture. I use methods in supervision according to the needs of the individual, team or group and the topic. My preparation: Training: supervisor-coach in psychosocial direction International Supervision and Coaching Institute (2025) Degree studies: master's degree in social work and social policy at the University of Tartu (2020) Work experience: I have worked in the social sector at both local and state level as well as in the third sector with very different target groups on topics of special care, child welfare as well as labor market and coping issues. Today I work full-time as a manager in the public sector.
