Creative Writing Workshop is a place where people with diverse backgrounds and mindsets come together to explore and unfold themselves and others through various creative exercises. Creativity - We learn to overcome our creative blocks (identify the reasons behind them and how to break them in a friendly manner). Habits - We discuss how to cultivate habits that ignite our creativity. Ideas - We learn to generate absurd ideas in the shortest possible time (time pressure works wonders!). Sensory Perception - We explore how different senses influence our writing (tasks involving smells, sounds, visual stimuli). Writing - Based on our ideas, we write both beautiful and quirky pieces to understand which style resonates most with our inner writer. Implementation - We discuss how and in what direction to apply our ideas in everyday life. I, Helen Maandi, am the facilitator of the Creative Writing Workshop. I have studied idea generation and creative writing at the New Zealand Media Design School, Tartu University (semiotics and cultural theories), and Baltic Film and Media School, where I expanded my knowledge in the audiovisual medium. I have gained significant experience in nurturing, writing, and expressing ideas in the advertising and film industry, both individually and as part of a team. I have conducted creative writing courses for enthusiasts of various ages for three years. Currently, I work as a creative writing teacher at Gustav Adolf Grammar School, Producer at Vaba Lava and creative thinking/writing mentor. The most important task in teaching, in my opinion, is to help each writer discover their own uniqueness and personal voice. Stories are born in different ways for each individual because our life experiences and perception of the world are entirely unique to each of us. The workshops aim to provide participants with a variety of methods to help them express their emotions and thoughts as clearly as possible. Additionally, receiving feedback on one's work is extremely important for every creative individual. Therefore, a significant emphasis is placed on sharing one's work with others and receiving feedback during the workshops. Each person's feedback is completely unique and helps the writer gain new perspectives on their thoughts.
