The Estonian Psychotherapy Association (EPTA) is an umbrella organisation uniting eight professional societies and advancing psychotherapy in Estonia.
The Estonian Psychotherapy Association (EPTA) was founded on 18 December 2010 by organisations uniting psychotherapists. EPTA operates in the public interest and works to improve the availability, development and quality of psychotherapy in order to prevent mental health disorders and enhance people's well-being and quality of life.
EPTA is recognised by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) as the National Awarding Organization (NAO) for psychotherapy in Estonia. EPTA arranges the affiliation of organisations and individuals with the European Association for Psychotherapy, and the psychotherapy training of its members meets the EAP training standard. EPTA's status enables individual members to apply for the European Certificate for Psychotherapy (ECP).
