Article SEO and Optimization

How to get your articles into Google and attract organic traffic

What is SEO?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) means optimizing your article so Google and other search engines can find it easily. A well-optimized article can bring you hundreds of new visitors monthly.

Why does SEO matter?

Free traffic

When Google ranks your article #1, you get steady organic traffic without ad costs.

Targeted readers

People searching for a specific topic are more motivated to book.

Long-term value

A good article brings traffic for years — one investment that keeps working.

Profile credibility

High SERP position signals expertise and builds trust.

SEO Key Elements

1

Title

  • Length: 50-60 characters
  • Include **primary keyword** at the start

2

Meta Description

  • Length: 150-160 characters
  • Shown below the title in Google results
  • Include keyword + reader benefit
  • Make it "clickable" (call-to-action)
3

Slug (URL part)

  • Short, keyword-laden URL: /artiklid/stress-reduction-techniques
  • Remove small words: "and", "or", "how"
  • Use hyphens, not underscores
4

Cover Image

  • 1200×630 pixels (Open Graph standard)
  • High quality and relevant to content
  • Add **alt text** for all images
  • Optimize file size (up to 200 KB ideally)
5

Heading Hierarchy

  • H1: article title (only one!)
  • H2: major sections
  • H3: subsections
  • Each H2 should contain keyword variations
6

Content Quality

  • At least 600 words, ideally 1000-2000
  • Original content — Google penalizes copying
  • Answer the reader's question thoroughly
  • Include concrete examples, data, quotes
7

Internal Links

  • Link to other Evoluna articles and guides
  • Use keywords as anchor text
  • Example: "Read more about [meditation techniques](/artiklid/...)"
8

Keywords

  • Pick 1-2 primary keywords + 3-5 secondary
  • Use them naturally — don't stuff
  • Do research: Google Trends, Answer The Public

What Evoluna does automatically

  • Generates OG (OpenGraph) images — for social media sharing
  • Adds JSON-LD structured data (author, date, word count)
  • Creates canonical URL to avoid duplicates
  • Generates hreflang for multilingual articles
  • Adds article to sitemap.xml and RSS feed (/artiklid/feed.xml)

Things to watch

  • Publish regularly (Google loves fresh content)
  • Update old articles (instead of always adding new ones)
  • Reply to comments — this signals engagement
  • Share on social media on publish day

Time and patience

SEO works slowly — it can take 3-6 months before an article reaches Google's first page. It's a long-term strategy, not a quick win.
